Data products are available for download on the Data Downloads page, which can be accessed through the OGC Web Application Logon.
Annual Reserves Data
This information is published on a yearly basis (usually September 1st) coinciding with the release of the Hydrocarbon and By-Product Reserves Report (available from Crown Publications Inc.) and provides the previous calendar years reserves. It is in ASCII format, with no charts or reports. For information pertaining to British Columbia
hydrocarbons, contact Glynis Farr (250) 952-0313 or Glynis.Farr@gov.bc.ca.
There are four types of data: oil and gas reserves; oil and gas production; gas
analysis data; and, code tables. The data must be deciphered from these files. Data
vendors use these files to manipulate data for their customers requirements.
Download InstructionsSave the download to file
or disk, then upzip the files (as they are zipped). Use the USER-Resv.doc to
define the files, data, offsets and line lengths. Use Microsoft Excel to open each
file. Excel has a wizard which allows the user to select columns by indicating a column
marker between each data item.
Monthly Drilling Production Data (PIMS)
This information is updated on a monthly basis around the
4th week of each month. The information is in ASCII format, with no charts or
reports. There are four types of data, three of which are included in Drilling data for
all wells in BCwell and facility information, and code tables. The fourth type of
data is the Production data for all wells in BC. The data must be deciphered from these
files. Data vendors use these files to manipulate data for their customers
requirements.
The drilling data contains information on all non-confidential wells and
consists of specific well informationDrill Stem Tests; core cuts; pressures; and,
analyses. Also included is geological informationpool, pay and porosity data, as
well as well status, completions, field and pools, and injections.
The oil and gas production information consists of production figures dating
from the 1950s up to the most recently available production. Production is two
calendar months behind the date the download was revised on the web (i.e., August 24th,
1999June production is available).
