   OPERATIONS ENGINEERING BRANCH
      MANDATE
The Operations Engineering Branch regulates the development and extraction of oil and gas. Responsibilities include: public safety, environmental and fiduciary interests, rights of subsurface tenure holders, and resource information. The Branch provides technical support to the other branches within the Commission. Duties relate to management of the operational activities associated with development, production and conservation of the provincial oil and gas subsurface resources all ranging from drilling and production activities through to waste management.
