Greg Reimer, Deputy Minister
Ministry of Energy, Mines and Petroleum Resources

 

Mr. Greg Reimer was appointed Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Energy, Mines and Petroleum Resources in June 2005.  Previously, Mr. Reimer was Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Provincial Revenue. 

The Ministry of Energy, Mines and Petroleum Resources directs

the environmentally and socially responsible development of

British Columbia’s energy, mineral and petroleum resources.  These vibrant resource sectors contribute approximately $3 billion to government revenue.  The Ministry’s goal is to increase energy, mineral and petroleum sector jobs, investment and revenue while acting as an environmental steward protecting the land base from which these benefits are derived. 

Mr. Reimer brings a wealth of experience and broad knowledge to the Ministry, having worked extensively in government with client groups and inter-provincial committees throughout British Columbia and Canada.  He fosters innovation and results oriented leadership, coupled with strategic planning and strong communications that enhance and support sound working relationships and partnerships with client groups and stakeholders.  He provided successful leadership on a variety of projects and initiatives ranging from development and implementation of program enhancements and performance accountability, to an innovative national model of collaboration in interprovincial business processes.   

Mr. Reimer obtained his Certified General Accountant designation in 1984.
