   BOARD OF DIRECTORS
      A GOVERNANCE PLAN FOR THE OGC

Change in OGC Board of Directors

Amendments to the Oil and Gas Commission Act, through Bill 36, have changed the governance of the Oil and Gas Commission.

The OGC reports to the board, which

  • Manages the affairs of the Commission;
  • Provides guidance; approves the Commission’s budget, service plans and regulatory initiatives; and
  • Establishes the Commission’s organization.

On June 16, 2005 Premier Gordon Campbell appointed Greg Reimer as the new Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Energy and Mines and Petroleum Resources – formerly Ministry of Energy and Mines. One of the duties of the Deputy Minister is to Chair the OGC Board.

The Commissioner and Deputy Commissioner remain responsible for the operations of the Commission.
