PRE-APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS

The following is a list of items, which clients should complete prior to submitting applications to the Oil & Gas Commission: To be eligible to conduct business in British Columbia, corporations must be registered with BC Corporate Registry in the Province of British Columbia or incorporated under the laws of Canada. A drilling deposit must be submitted to the Ministry of Energy and Mines under Section 4 of the Petroleum and Natural Gas General Regulation, as security for the proper drilling, control, completion, suspension or abandonment of a well or test hole, and to provide for the reclamation and restoration of well sites or test hole sites. For further information, contact the Oil & Gas Commission at (250) 261-5700 and ask to speak with an Examiner. Comprehensive general liability insurance with a limit of $1,000,000 (Oil and Gas Commission and Her Majesty the Queen in Right of the Province of British Columbia, her employees, servants and agents to be added as named insured) is required in order to hold a Crown land surface tenure document. A Master Licence to Cut on Crown land is required for each forest district you will be working within (Peace and Fort Nelson).
